Dispensing Wet Wipes in a Wet Wipe Machine

Nov 21, 2022|

Traditionally, wet wipes are dispensed from a tub-like container. These are made of non-woven fabric, which is similar to fabric used in making dryer sheets. Wet wipes may also be provided in a package that contains multiple cartridges. Alternatively, wipes may be dispensed directly from the roll in the container.

These containers may be flexible or made of metal foil. They may be configured as a pouch with a removable cover. The combination of the wipes and container may be similar in size to the cartridge. This configuration provides an efficient system for dispensing wet wipes.

Wet wipes may also be provided in a package with perforated sheets. A roll may contain at least 90 perforated sheets. Perforations may form a gap that allows the wet wipe to extend through it. In addition, the roll may have a hollow core.

The angle of the cartridge helps reduce the amount of drying and wicking that takes place when a wet wipe is pulled from it. This angle also helps balance the forces associated with peeling. This angle can also increase or decrease the drag associated with pulling the wet wipe. It is important to maintain a proper angle of the cartridge to minimize its drag when it is inserted in a dispenser.

Ideally, the space between the lip of the cartridge and the inner surface of the front cover should be less than 10 mm. This space may be used as a finger hold for the consumer to pull the wipes from the dispenser.
